A New Life in Teyvat (B1 version with grammar targets)
Emily was a 19-year-old university student in her second year. She had been studying very hard lately , trying to balance lectures, gym workouts, and constant assignments. Her days were always tiring and never relaxing . One evening, feeling completely burned out , she stared at her screen, a blank document waiting for her attention.
“I can’t do this anymore,” she said quietly.
Her brain, overheated from research , felt like it was melting. Her muscles, sore from training, ached badly. She needed a break.
So, she did what she had always done when she needed something to escape with .
She opened Genshin Impact.
The bright and welcoming world of Mondstadt appeared, and she smiled. Hearing the peaceful music and seeing the green hills always helped her relax. She picked her favorite character and started exploring the snowy area near Dragonspine. The cold wind, chilling but refreshing , made her feel alive.
Then something unusual happened.
While she was playing, she felt a breeze on her cheek. Looking around the room with surprise [PP], she noticed leaves floating around her chair . Her windows were closed. The air began to swirl faster.
Before she could understand what she was looking at , something soft bumped her leg.
“Ouch,” she said — but it didn’t really hurt.
She looked down and saw a glowing green slime , just like in the game. It wobbled happily and touched her again. This time, she fainted.
When she opened her eyes, she was lying on warm grass. The sky above was blue, the wind soft, and birds were singing. In the distance, she saw Mondstadt. Recognizing the red rooftops and tall windmills , she gasped.
“This can’t be where I’ve ended up in , can it?”
She stood up and looked at herself. Her pajamas were gone. She was wearing an adventurer’s outfit, light and carefully designed . On her belt, a Pyro Vision was shining.
“I have fire powers?” she whispered.
She walked toward the city, amazed by how real everything seemed. The streets were busy, full of smiling people and singing bards . Everything looked like it had been built with care.
Emily found a small house near the city wall. It was quiet, cozy, and surrounded by flowers .
“I want you to understand how perfect this place is,” she said to herself.
She began her new life. She had been going on adventures to earn Mora, the local money. She explored forests, caves, and snowy mountains, fighting groups of Hilichurls and collecting resources . Her Pyro powers grew stronger each day.
Sometimes she visited the blacksmith, asking for extra jobs and new tasks. He gave her quests to find rare ores in caves she never would have thought of going into .
“I want you to mine only the rarest crystals,” he said to her with a serious face.
At first, the work was hard. The hammer was heavy, and the forge was extremely hot. But she had been training daily [PPC] and her strength returned. The blacksmith, impressed by her dedication, allowed her to help with forging.
“I want you to finish this blade by tomorrow,” he told her again and again .
She got better. Her weapons became powerful and covered in magical energy. One sword could shoot fire. Another could explode on impact. Adventurers came to her shop from far away.
When Emily wasn’t working or training, she traveled across Teyvat, discovering new places and trying exotic food. She visited Liyue — a land surrounded by mountains and glowing with golden light.
“I want you to stay safe when you’re away,” one local merchant told her kindly .
Sometimes she missed her old life — her family, her best friend, even her boring lectures she used to complain about. But in Teyvat, she was free.
And maybe… just maybe, she didn’t want to go back to the world she had come from.
